April 19th. Chie gets Yu to help out with the basketball club. Yu meets one of the team's players, Kou Ichijo; Daisuke Nagase of the soccer club; and the basketball manager, Ai Ebihara. After Ai has Yu cut school to go on a shopping spree, she says that she has taken a liking to him. The next day, Ai reveals that she has a crush on Kou, and has Yu ask him what his type is; he does, only to learn that Kou has a crush on Chie. Depressed about this news, Ai attempts to commit suicide by jumping off the school roof. Yu stops her, and after some consolation, Yu learns that Ai was once a "stinky fatso" and constantly teased, driving her to slim down and become trendy. Ai then asks Yu to be her boyfriend until he finds someone else; otherwise, she'd jump off the roof. Starting the next day, Ai begins forcing him to hang out with her, say "I love you", etc., much to Yu's dismay. Believing Chie might be jealous of Yu, Yosuke sets her up to become a temp manager for the basketball team. Yu later learns that Kou is going to quit the team after the next game, and asks Yu to help him win. On the day of the game, Ai's jealousy of Chie leads to have a slap fight during the basketball game, which Kou's team loses to the rival schools. After the game, Kou tells the others that the outcome has changed his mind about quitting. Ai decides to call off her "thing" with Yu and work hard to become a good manager. After Yukiko returns from her few days of rest, the group decides to resume their investigations of the murders.
Persona 4 takes place in the same universe as Persona 3 in a rural town named Inaba. There have been mysterious murders occurring whenever there was fog after heavy rain. There were also rumors about a channel on television airing only at midnight called Mayonaka TV, during which it is said that one can see his/her "other half" when staring at the TV screen.

Episode 4
"Somewhere not here"
April 18th.Yu and the others return to the TV world to resume their search for Yukiko, though only comes across her Shadow Self (who is still on her "search for her Prince"). She runs off, and the group is assaulted by several Shadows. Meanwhile, the real Yukiko, on the dungeon's top floor, comes across an empty birdcage, causing her to recalling how she looked after an abandoned bird which flew away one day, leaving her to feel that Chie wouldn't be able to free her from her life as an innkeeper—the feelings of her Shadow Self. When Yu and the others arrive on the top floor, they find both Yukikos; Shadow Yukiko says that "three Princes" have arrived and asks them to take her away from Inaba. When Chie wonders aloud if she's the third Prince, the Shadow confirms this, but tells her, "Chie, you're a strong magnificent Prince. ...Or you were." With that, Shadow Yukiko tries to kill Chie by sending a large chandelier down on her; she is saved when Yu summons another new Persona, Ara Mitama of the Chariot Arcana, in the nick of time. The furniture attacks the group: the chandelier crushes Jiraiya against the wall; the carpet wraps around Chie, Tomoe, and Kuma; and the chandelier candles cover Yu and Yosuke's legs with quick-drying candle wax, holding them in place. Shadow Yukiko transforms into a fire-manipulating lovebird, which sets the battlefield on fire, and traps the real Yukiko in a birdcage. Everyone manages to break free of their restraints; Yu is forced to switch to Pyro Jack, using its fire-absorbing ability, to even the odds. Chie confesses her jealousy towards Yukiko and gives her the strength to break from her own chains, allowing the others to defeat the Shadow. After the battle, Yukiko accepts her other self, which becomes Yukiko's Persona, Konohana-Sakuya of the Priestess Arcana. Kuma gives Yukiko a pair of goofy glasses, and after having Chie put them on, she busts up into one of her "laughing fits".

Episode 3
"We are friends, aren't we?"
April 16th. Chie grows concerned when she supposedly sees Yukiko on the Midnight Channel the previous night, as Yukiko herself is not present at school; Chie later learns (to her relief) that Yukiko was stuck helping out at the Amagi Inn during school. After confirming with Kuma at the TV set in Junes, they decide to check tonight's Midnight Channel. That night, both Yu and Yosuke are both startled to see Yukiko on the Midnight Channel, where she is the host of the unscripted "Princess Yukiko's Hunt for Her Prince on a White Horse; meanwhile, Chie goes to the Amagi Inn to find that Yukiko has gone missing. The next day (4/17), Yosuke brings (fake) swords to use in the TV world; however, he and Yu get arrested for Yosuke's mistake. Chie sees the police cruiser with the two inside and goes after them. Yu and Yosuke, luckily, are cleared at the police station, where Chie informs the two about Yukiko's disappearance. The trio venture into the TV world again to search for Yukiko. As Chie goes on ahead and learns of Yukiko's feelings, she is confronted by her "other self", who represents her jealousy and envy concerning Yukiko. Chie screams that the "other self" isn't her, causing the Shadow Chie to transform into a dominatrix with black hair, held aloft by three struggling student-shaped puppets. During the battle, Yu and Yosuke remind Chie that it's her friendship with Yukiko that matters; however, Shadow Chie isn't ready to "be accepted", and tries to eliminate Yu and Yosuke. With the his Wild Card ability (an ability bestowed to those "Chosen", according to Margaret), Yu gains a new Persona, Pyro Jack of the Magician Arcana, with which they manage to defeat Chie's Shadow, who becomes her Persona, Tomoe of the Chariot Arcana. Although they are unable to find Yukiko, they vow to rescue her before the next foggy night. As thanks for saving her, Chie shows Yu a picture of her dog, which helped introduce her to Yukiko. This starts the Chariot Social Link with Chie.

Episode 1
"You're myself, I'm yourself"
April 11th, 2011. The episode stats with the main character, Yu Narukami, awakening within the Velvet Room, which is currently shaped as the inside of a limousine moving through a dense fog. He is introduced to the room's residence Igor and Margaret. Igor uses Persona cards to read Yu's future, saying that a great mystery will soon be imposed upon him, before bidding him farewell. Yu then wakes up on the train from Tokyo to Inaba (a result of his parents moving abroad). Yu later arrives in Inaba to live with his uncle, Ryotaro Dojima, and his daughter Nanako. After shaking hands with the gas station attendant he meets on the way to Dojima's house, Yu experiances sudden vertigo, which passes quickly. On the day he starts out at Yasogami High School (4/12), he meets Chie Satonaka and Yukiko Amagi. While homeroom with their foul-mouthed teacher, Mr. Morooka (a.k.a. King Moron/Morokin) begins, a third-year student, Saki Konishi, who was cutting class, witnesses the body of Mayumi Yamano, a TV announcer, hanging from a roof antenna. The next day (4/13), Yu helps out and befriends Yosuke Hanamura, a student seen on the first day of school returning a (broken) DVD to Chie. When Yosuke offers to treat Yu to beefsteak, Chie barges into the offer, as Yosuke owes her for breaking the DVD. While having lunch at the Junes department store, Yu hears from Chie about the Midnight Channel, a "TV program" that can be seen on rainy midnights. They all try to watch the channel that night, when Yu spots Saki on the television. He then hears a strange voice that causes him to experience more vertigo, much more painful than before. As Yu tries to grab his TV set for support, his hand passes through the screen, and he nearly gets sucked in. He manages to push himself out (thanks to his TV set's small screen), and he tries to grasp what had just happened. April 14th. Yu tells the others what had happened last night; however, Yosuke and Chie don't believe him at all. Later, the trio visit Junes' electronics section to "try it out" with a larger TV set, on Chie's suggestion. Yu does try it again (to both Yosuke and Chie's astonishment), sticking his hand through the large TV screen, and all three fall in and enter a realm shrouded in fog. There, they encounter a strange bear named Kuma (Teddie) who gives Yu a pair of glasses that allow him to see clearly through the fog. Suddenly, a trio of monsters known as Shadows appear. During the chase, Chie falls unconscious from being struck by a Shadow's attack. Just as the group are pinned down, Yu feels a strange power within himself. He hears the voice again, and summons forth his Persona - Izanagi of the Fool Arcana - for the first time to defeat the Shadows.
